Levy Information
If you are interested in opting out of the UTSEC levy, you can find the instructions to do so below. But before you do so, please keep in mind that even if you are not interested in our services, the broader community benefits hugely, and your levy payment makes that possible!
Even if you just stop by our office to grab a snack, sticker, or to check out a book, you will have gotten your money’s worth!
That being said, if you choose to request a refund, you can do the following:
If you are an undergraduate student (member of the UTSU):
You must request your refund directly through them by following this link: https://www.utsu.ca/fees-budget-finances/#Refundable-UTSU-Levies and filling out the Refundable-fees opt-out form. The opt out form for Fall 2026 is open from September 8th through October 2nd.
If you are a graduate student (member of the UTGSU):
Graduate students’ levy fees are $1.04 for Fall full-time, $0.52 for Fall part-time and $1.03 for winter full-time or $0.51 for winter part-time. The refund of levy fees is made in person at the SEC office at 2230 College St, Room 326, between September 23 and October 23, 2026, 11am – 5pm. Please bring your University of Toronto Student ID and proof of enrolment.
