General Information
Medical abortions (Mifegymiso) are available in Ontario to terminate pregnancies up to 11 weeks, depending on the provider.
Surgical/procedural abortions are available in Ontario to terminate pregnancies up to 24 weeks and 6 days, depending on the provider.
Both medical and surgical abortions are fully covered by either OHIP or UHIP.
Those seeking an abortion without health coverage will need to pay out of pocket for an abortion, with a cost of $300-$2300. For surgical abortions at a hospital, financial assistance may be available.
